  • The first day of class will be at the MITA Building (2937 Atrium Drive Okemos, MI 48864). The first day will cover the Aggregates, ACI 301, and ACI 211 Fundamentals of Mix Proportioning (open-book exam) material. This session will be limited to 48 students.
  • Students will be assigned a group for the ACI Concrete Field Tech Grade 1 Recertification day. This will be either day 2 or day 3.
  • Day 2 or 3 (depending on group assignment) will begin at 3130 Pine Tree Rd. Lansing, MI 48911 with the MCA Level 2 open-book exam. Exam will begin at 8:30 AM after a brief review.
  • Following the Level 2 exam will be review and exam for the ACI Level 1 certification. This is a single day recertification. There will be a short review of the material (approximately 4 hours in the morning). There will be time to practice the field tests after the book review. The ACI practical exam and written exam will then follow in the afternoon with lunch.
  • Come prepared to test concrete – safety boots or shoes, clothes that you don’t mind getting concrete on, and safety glasses if desired. Gloves will be provided, but feel free to bring your own.
  • Each student will receive their classroom materials including the ACI CP-1 workbook, and MCA Level 2 binder two weeks before the certification class begins.
  • Lunch will be provided on both days of class. Pre-packaged snacks and beverages will be available.

  • Prior to attending class, if you need ADA accommodation, are sick or have other disabilities, or have physical limitations, you must comply with ACI pre-certification qualification before being granted any special exceptions to the program. You must contact ACI Certification at aci.certification@concrete.org before attending class!

Don’t Let Your Current Level II Certification Expire…

MCA Level II Technicians with an expiration date of 4/15/2026 will need to register for an upcoming recertification exam to extend their current certification. To verify your expiration date, it is printed on your MCA certificate /wallet card or can be obtained by contacting the MCA office at 517.347.7720

Notes:
1.  Level II Technicians DO NOT have to register separately for a Level I review class. The Level II review session also recertifies your ACI Level I written and performance exams.
2.  It is recommended that all attendees wear clothing that is appropriate for testing concrete.
