SELF CONSOLIDATING CONCRETE CERTIFICATION

 

The American Concrete Institute (ACI) is pleased to announce a new program that will certify individuals based on their technical knowledge and ability to correctly perform five ASTM test methods. These test methods were developed specifically for self-consolidating concrete and are used to measure its fresh properties, and include:

C1610 Static Segregation of Self-Consolidating Concrete using Column Techniques

C1611 Slump Flow of Self-Consolidating Concrete

C1621 Passing Ability of Self-Consolidating Concrete by J-Ring

C1712 Rapid Assessment of Static Segregation Resistance of Self-Consolidating Concrete Using Penetration Test

C1758 Fabricating Test Specimens with Self-Consolidating Concrete

 

Self-Consolidating Concrete Exam Requirements

Participants must successfully pass the following exams to become certified as a SCC technician:

1. Written Exam - A closed book exam consisting of 50 multiple choice questions. There are 6-10 questions on each of the test methods. Students must score 70% or higher and also achieve a minimum score of 60% on each ASTM standard.

2. Performance Exam - A closed book exam assessing the students' ability to correctly perform the tests.

Certification is valid for a five (5) year period.
