IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THE REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU CONTINUE.
Individuals pursuing Level II Certification must possess a current Level I certification. The level II certification covers the following topics: Aggregates for Concrete | Mix Design | Trial Batch Mix Adjustments | Strength Evaluation | Trouble Shooting | MDOT QA/QC Specifications
The Level II certification is 3 ½ days in length – 3 days of combined classroom and laboratory instruction followed by a 1/2 day written exam.
This is a 2 1/2 hour “open book” exam consisting of 50 questions. Students must score 70% or higher to pass.
Your Level II certification will expire at the same time as your current MCA Level I. As a result, technicians can elect to choose from one of the following:
Option 1: Write the Level II exam. With this option, your Level II certification will expire the same year as your current Level I certification.
Option 2: Write the Level II exam AND take the Level I ACI written and performance exams at a later date. By taking the ACI exams in the same certification year, the Level II certification will be extended a full three years, e.g. expiration will be 4/15/2023. The ACI tests will not be available on the same day as the Level II exam and must be registered for separately. However, there is no additional fee for taking the Level I ACI tests when you register for the Level II course.
Please contact our office at 800.678.9622 to register to take the ACI Level 1 written and performance exam.
