Designer: Partners in Architecture, Inc
Owner: Highland Township

Rapidly growing Highland Township was in desperate need of a new fire station. Built in the 1940s, this out-of-date, undersized, and not up to code station was simply not meeting requirements. The result was the construction of this beautiful up-to-date fire station that will meet the needs of Highland Township’s 20,000+ residents for years to come.

Built-in 3 phases, construction began in fall 2020 and was completed in July 2021. Amidst strict COVID-19 shutdowns, GM & Sons, Livingston Concrete, and multiple trades worked together to meet all completion dates. 4,500 square yards (1,100 cubic yards) of 7-inch reinforced concrete was constructed to sustain critical fire truck loading at the garage’s entrance as well as emergency access crossing the M-59 right-of-way. The pavement also includes an ice melting system. Thanks to their collective hard work, Highland Township has a premium and durable concrete pavement as reliable as the new fire station itself.
