Construction of floor and truck aprons for Frenchtown’s massive High-Velocity Redistribution center was no easy feat for all parties involved.
Last-minute, Hercules had to travel to Tennessee to purchase a portable plant to set up on-site for this project. It turned out to be a great investment, as they ended up supplying concrete not only for the floors but for all concrete on-site including slipform curbs. 38,000 square yards of 8-inch slab-on-grade concrete with a laser screed within a span of 8 weeks.
Trucking and acquiring drivers were a big issue on this project requiring Hercules to recruit rentals from their other plants. In total, 7 trucks were used with each transporting 12-15 loads per day until completion. Along with productivity, the concrete provided displayed some of the finest FF & FL numbers contractors had seen in a long time. This floor is sure to provide long-lasting support for its high-profile tenant occupying the facility for many years.
