DEARBORN STORM SEWER SEPARATION - CSO #003 and #005

Location: Kean, Cambridge, Trowbridge, Westwood, and Bailey streets
Contractor/Supplier: Mark Anthony Contracting
Owner/Engineer: City of Dearborn

The reconstruction of these five streets was part of a larger project to update utilities, including the installation of separate storm and sanitary sewers. To finish off the road surface, Mark Anthony crews used a full-width form riding paver to place almost 24,000 square yards of 8-inch concrete pavement with integral curb for the roads in this industrial area of Dearborn.

During construction, contractors on this project were challenged to maintain traffic to all the local industrial businesses, including deliveries and shipments via numerous semi-trucks. Strategically planning the pouring sequence was key in the success of this project.

With minimal space to work, being within an older industrial park with heavy truck traffic, the end result is outstanding. The new roadway surface for the businesses in Dearborn is a prime example of quality of workmanship as well as aesthetic improvement.
