Overview: The Michigan Concrete Association (MCA) invites you to be the pioneer Director of Construction & Education in a newly created role designed to spearhead the advancement of concrete utilization in the industry. With a legacy stemming from 1952 and representing approximately 200 member companies, MCA aims to elevate the use of concrete through advocacy, innovation, and education. This position is crucial for promoting the benefits of concrete in construction, enhancing member value, and driving industry growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion the adoption of concrete solutions in construction projects, leveraging marketing strategies and educational outreach.
  • Collaborate with industry professionals to guide projects from concept to completion, advocating for concrete's versatility and sustainability.
  • Drive MCA membership growth by showcasing membership benefits, including technical resources, industry insights, and networking opportunities.
  • Design and implement training programs for members, focusing on concrete construction best practices, design, and maintenance.
  • Lead community-building initiatives through committees, seminars, and workshops to enhance industry knowledge and collaboration.
  • Represent MCA's interests in industry developments, ensuring members have the tools and information to navigate market trends successfully.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, marketing, business, or related fields (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Solid background in the concrete or commercial building products industry, with a strategic understanding of industry challenges and opportunities.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with a talent for public speaking and member engagement.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office for creating engaging educational and promotional materials.
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout Michigan and occasionally on a national level.
