Not a surprise to anyone, Amazon is taking over America’s digital and physical landscape, with countless distribution facilities being built throughout the country, and Michigan is no different. Recently, two large warehouses (752,400 square feet and 516,760 square feet) were built where the old Pinnacle Race Course used to reside in Romulus. To operate as the primary vein of transportation for shipping products in and out of these facilities, a brand-new stretch of Prescott Road was required, bisecting the two facilities.
Working together flawlessly, Florence Cement, Miller Brothers, and Ryan Companies paved this superb one-mile extension with nearly 25,000 square yards of 10-inch-thick concrete pavement with an integral curb (all within Wayne County specs). Not only does this new roadway support heavy and consistent truck traffic, but it also acts as the route for 1,000 new employees working in both warehouses.
