MCA Advanced Concrete Level II Technician Recertification

2022/2023 MCA LEVEL 2 Recertification

The MCA has modified the way in which it will be delivering Level 2 recertification classes for 2022/2023. It will combine online learning with in-person exam session.

  1. The class will begin at 8:30 am.
  2. The first day of class will be a virtual format and utilize Zoom to cover the Aggregates, ACI 301, and ACI 211 Fundamentals of Mix Proportioning (open-book exam) material. Virtual sessions will be limited to 44 students.
  3. Day two will be in-person at the training center and cover ACI Level 1 Field Technician materials and lab practice day. Practice day and exam days with be divided into groups of 22. You will be assigned an 8:30 AM or 12:30 PM session for day two and three.
  4. Day 3 will be in-person at the training center for the ACI Level 1 Field Technician closed-book and practical exam. Exam day will be limited to 22 people. You will be assigned an 8:30 AM or 12:30 PM exam session.
  5. Day 4 will be the MCA Level 2 open-book exam. The exam will begin at 8:30 AM at the training center. The entire class will be combined for the Level 2 Exam.
  6. The MCA will be providing disposable masks and gloves to each student for those who choose to use them.
  7. Each student will receive their classroom materials including the ACI CP-1 workbook, and MCA Level 2 binder two weeks before the virtual training begins.
  8. Practice and Exam Days will be approximately half-day session. No Lunch will be provided. Pre-packaged snacks and beverages will be available.

Don’t Let Your Current Level II Certification Expire…

MCA Level II Technicians with an expiration date of 4/15/2023 will need to register for an upcoming recertification exam to extend their current certification. To verify your expiration date, it is printed on your MCA certificate /wallet card or can be obtained by contacting the MCA office at 800.678.9622. As a reminder, your Level II certification is valid for a three year period in Michigan.
 

Notes:
1.  Level II Technicians DO NOT have to register separately for a Level I review class. Included with the Level II review session is recertifying your ACI Level I written and performance exams.
2.  It is recommended that all attendees wear clothing that is appropriate for testing concrete.
