ADHESIVE ANCHOR INSTALLation INSPECTOR
The American Concrete Institute (ACI) is pleased to introduce a certification program specifically designed for the inspection of the installation of adhesive anchors. The program combines both classroom and hands-on training that concludes with a two part written exam. Part I is closed book and is based on the Adhesive Anchor Installer (AAI) certification utilizing the AAI technician workbook (CP-80). Part II is an open book exam based on inspection requirements from ACI 318, 355.4, 2015 IBC, ICC-ESR and other industry documents.
While the Inspector does not have to demonstrate the ability to install an anchor system, they are required to attend a practice/hands-on session to observe installers working with overhead installations, the piston plug and retaining cap systems.
To become certified, you must pass both the Installation exam (Part I), the Inspection exam (Part II), and attend the practice/hands-on session. Your certification is valid for a period of 5 years.
The program is being offered by the Michigan Concrete Association (MCA) in conjunction with ACI.
