Mr. Hollingsworth is Director of Training/Technical Services for the Michigan Concrete Association. In this position, Mr. Hollingsworth manages and serves as lead instructor for the various American Concrete Institute (ACI) and MCA certification programs offered through the Association. In addition, he provides technical support for the Association's ready-mixed concrete producers.
Mr. Hollingsworth is a graduate of Michigan Technological University with degrees in Civil Engineering (1985) and Engineering Administration (1986).
Prior to joining the Michigan Concrete Association in 1998, he was employed by St. Marys Cement as a Technical Service Engineer (1987-1993) and as Manager of Technical Services – Great Lakes Region (1993-1998).
He is an active participant with ACI either currently serving or previously serving on committees C610 – Field Technician, 211 – Mix Proportioning, 210 – Durability, CPC – Certification Programs Committee, and Convention Committee.
Ms. Sutton is the Director of Engineering – SE-Michigan for the Michigan Concrete Association. In this position she acts as the technical and informational field representative, working with engineers, contracting authorities and other decision-makers throughout the region.
Ms. Sutton’s background is in civil/environmental engineering and has worked in the engineering consulting field and in the cement industry. She has a Bachelors of Science Degree in Environmental Engineering from Michigan Technological University and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Wayne State University. She is a registered professional engineer in the state of Michigan.
Mr. Waalkes is the Director of Engineering - West Michigan for the MIchigan Concrete Association. In that role, he assists owners, engineers, inspectors, and contractors with the design, specification, and construction of concrete pavements and other concrete-related products. Steve also assists contractors and other members with troubleshooting and technical issues regarding concrete design, construction, and rehabilitation. Steve has also given workshops and presentations around North America on concrete pavement practices, technology, and research.
Prior to his current position, he was with the American Concrete Pavement Association for six years as the Managing Director of Technical Services and the Director of Engineering & Rehabilitation. Mr. Waalkes has also worked for a consulting engineering firm and has taught university-level highway engineering courses. He has a Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering from Calvin College and a Masters of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois, and a member of the American Concrete Institute, the American Society of Civil Engineers, and the National Society of Professional Engineers.
Ms. Ruthig is the Accounting Administrator for the Michigan Concrete Association. She started working for the MCA in 2004. Prior to joining MCA, she worked for Builders’ Redi-Mix for 20 years as a Financial Supervisor and was responsible for all accounting functions. Her responsibilities at MCA include managing and administering all aspects of the accounting and financial reporting. She also coordinates the creation and maintenance of the annual directory.
