Concrete Parking Lots

Conventional Concrete Parking Lots

Why concrete? When it comes to picking a parking surface that is visually appealing, functional and low maintenance, concrete is your only choice. Concrete parking lots will provide 30+ years of environmentally friendly parking area while its light color and high reflectivity that can lower your buildings cooling cost. The lots overall appearance can be enhanced with decorative highlights giving you an esthetically pleasing, and functional lot. While this economical parking surface can provide very competitive upfront cost and will easily offer better life cost figures than its competition. The crisp white gray appearance will welcome visitors for years while this low maintenance, recyclable, petroleum free product looks after our environment.

Reduction of maintenance cost- Unlike asphalt you will never see a business closed due to resealing, re-striping and resurfacing a concrete parking lot. Pictured below are two gas station lots at opposite ends of a strip mall in Pennsylvania. The pictures taken a few minutes apart show the impact of having to shut down for maintenance of your parking lot. So not only are you paying to have your lot serviced you are also losing a considerable amount of revenue and introducing your customers to the competition.

Reduced energy cost- As we all learned in science class years ago, dark colors absorb light and light colors reflect it. So by using a light color concrete parking lot, you lower your cooling cost in the summer months where the parking surface gets a lot of direct sunlight.

Decorative Appearance - With all of the options decorative concrete offers, you can now customize a portion of your parking area, or just the sidewalks and entry way to fit your establishment’s persona or your personal taste. Decorative concrete can mimic many natural stone patterns at a fraction of the cost. Decorative concrete puts you in control of your building appearance and sets you apart from your competitors.

Durability- Concrete like fine wine only gets better with age, as your concrete parking lot gets older it also gets harder. This lends its self to being much more durable than other methods of paving and means that you won’t be refinishing your parking surface in 7 to 10 years. This increased durability prevents the pitting, and breaking up of the surface that can become a safety hazard to your patrons and employees.

Environmental- While asphalt sealer is being investigated for its harmful runoff; concrete uses recycled waste products in its initial production and can itself be recycled and used as aggregate after being replaced. Now with pervious concrete we can ever prevent first flush pollutants from entering our streams and lakes.
Why concrete; because you deserve the longest lasting best performing product available. That’s why!
